LIFE CHANGING VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS IN CHIBOMBO AND MUFUMBWE,CENTRAL AND NORTH-WESTERN PROVINCE OF Zambia.

Luketekelo family foundation is a growing Non-profit organization in Zambia which is seeking volunteer from other countries and within the country to come help with the  Construction  of a  Children's Home and a School  for the street Children, Orphans, and  Marginalized children and project of building a vocational training center  for women empowerment in Chibombo in Central province.

Our community outreach activities serve several purposes, and are channeled through the broad spectrum of services provided by Luketekelo family foundation.

WHY LUKETEKELO FAMILY FOUNDATION

There are many volunteer projects and organizations in the world, but a huge gap unfortunately exists between the best and the worst. It’s hard to know what to look for, and even harder to decide on whom to join. How do you know if the organization is legit? Make sure you do your research and don’t be afraid to ask the hard questions

HERE ARE JUST A HANDFUL OF THINGS THAT A RESPONSIBLE, SUSTAINABLE VOLUNTEER TRAVEL ORGANIZATION SHOULD DO

  • Having  high level of communication, just as the program should be transparent with the spending, being clear and honest with potential volunteers about living conditions, the sort of work they will be doing, and the impact it has in community development

  • Run and manage their own projects – most websites are simply agencies

  • Be able to send you tangible, real achievements on a regular basis

  • Have a clear Child Protection Policy and ensure you complete a criminal record check prior to involvement (This is a MUST)

  • Have experienced staff on the ground to support you day-in-day-out and our community members are directly involved in the project.

  • Not use volunteer support in replacement for a local person

Remember, volunteering abroad should also be FUN (As long as everything is ticked above, it’s OK to have an action-packed adventure). Luketekelo family foundation  is working on being the very best at this.

HOW CAN YOU Go BEYOND VOLUNTEERING?

THE EXPERIENCE

We believe in the spirit of Zambia  and that your experience is just as important as your impact. Volunteering is a two-way thing. It’s not just about the help and skills that you can bring to Chibombo, central  province of Zambia but it’s also about what this amazing country and  its people, nature and its wildlife can give you in return. An experience filled with adventure, learning and breathtaking moments will make sure you go home, share the magic of Zambia , and come back. Ultimately, we combine extraordinary experiences with genuine impacts.

THE IMPACT

We know Zambia , we live and breathe it every day. We know our communities, our families, our tribes and our staffs. We started building a our first children's home project in the community of Chibombo  and we need to put a roof , and the orphans and marginalized children of Mwampita village have been in the building of a children's home. Meaning it is led and directed by them. We measure every single thing we do, so if you are looking for a sit around in the sunshine kind of deal, we’re not for you. Our team of international and local staff will work with you and will help you contribute to our long-term goals. This lets us go beyond what the world thinks of as ‘volunteering abroad’ and provides an experience that truly transforms communities and volunteers.

THE TRANSFORMATION

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has! You can be part of this volunteers movement today and change the community.

Forget the savior complex, it’s out the door by the time we’re through with our volunteers. We know you go home richer and worldlier. You are better friends, better neighbors and better people. Volunteering in Zambia Chibombo will  help to change perceptions and stereotypes about  Zambia and Africa, its people and its problems, while it provides local communities with an exchange of culture, mindsets and ideas.
