One-night l had a dream designing this Esena Skirt with different beautiful Chitenge fabric with collaboration Sack (burlap) traditionally made of fibers which are also known as "tow," An ancient fabric which my grandmother loved so much and she used it for cooling water in her home in our village and also for the sack as a tool for fighting grass fires in our home village by soaking it with water.
After waking up l decided to try and design it in real life and l gave it to my tailor who made it just exactly has it was in my dream.
Esena Shirt was inspired by my late grandmother, she was a powerful, resilience and smart woman full of wisdom. And because of her wisdom Chiefs from the north-western in Mufumbwe used to call her in the palace each time there was a case or issue to judge or solve. She demonstrated wisdom in decision making. She loved beautiful and nice Chitenge fabric.
Wearing this Esena skirt will signify power and wisdom, and l believe they will experience significate the skirt carries which my grandmother l had.
